Bernice (Clark) Martin, 110, of Simsbury, wife of the late Garland Cambridge Martin, died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at McLean Home in Simsbury. She was born December 6, 1905 in Granby, daughter of the late Charles D. and Mary Estelle (Griffen) Clark. She was a lifelong proud resident of Simsbury, and took pleasure in serving her community in many ways. Bernice was the oldest living member of the First Church of Christ in Simsbury and was a member of the Abigail Phelps Chapter of DAR, the McLean Auxiliary and the Simsbury Garden Club. She is survived by her daughter, Diana M. Wildemann of Delmar, NY; her grandchildren, Gregory Wildemann, Susan Wildemann Homsey, David Martin, Holly Martin, Heather Macdonald, Robert Martin and Bonnie Pilkington; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Dale C. Martin; her sister, Dorris Langdon and five half siblings, Richard Clark, Jean Clark, Charles Clark Jr, Evelyn Stenhouse and Marion Guerry. There are no calling hours. A memorial service, followed by reception, will be celebrated on Saturday, February 6th at 11:00 am, at the First Church of Christ, 689 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. Burial at Simsbury Cemetery is planned for a later date.
